Main reasons why USB drives might not work

My phone does not have blue tooth privileges, thus in many cases I am forced to transfer pictures, music and other files from my phone to my computer through the universal serial bus to make it possible for me to get the files and pictures where I need them to be. Another thing is that, even my camera requires me to use an universal serial bus when moving pictures from the camera to the computer in question. The advantage with that is that I can transfer my files to any computer I want to, an advantage soon became a disadvantage because by using my camera on different computers, it affected my camera with viruses. I noticed this when I tried moving pictures from the camera to my computer but the computer was not recognizing the camera because of my usb cable. I looked for the reason Why Is My USB Drive Not Working. The cable was not faulty so the only other reason I had in mind was due to viruses. I updated my anti virus and formatted the camera thus losing all my pictures but at the end of the day it was way cheaper than buying another camera just because of a virus infection.
