Returning the defective toys that were delivered

I manage a small toy shop in our city. We sell the average toys for the young boys and girls. We have the usual toy cars, dolls, train sets, doll houses, toy musical instruments and more. You name it, we have it. Aside from those, we also sell toys that are perfect replicas of those considered as collectors items. I ordered a box of tin soldiers, which where imitations of Hans Christian Andersen's tin soldier that came to life. They were almost perfect. Almost being the operative word. All of them had identical faded spots on the right shoulder. I called the maker and told him I was returning them and would like to get my money back. He said he wouldn't give me my deposit. So, I called a lawyer friend who specialized in consumer law deposits are included in. I asked him to draft me a letter so I can return the product and get my deposit back. I needed to get the product from another supplier because I had a deadline to meet. I have clients who expected them next week. After he received the letter, he gave my money back and asked me to return the box.
